It started
in 1913.

In 1913, British citizen Victor L. Bryant established an import and wholesale business in Belize City. Recognizing the importance of logistics, he acquired the Irish Lass shipping vessel to distribute goods across the country. After expanding the business, he retired to the UK in 1940, selling it to Guyanese lawyer E. Dragden.

The Dragden family ran the company until 1961, when a hurricane devastated Belize City. They then put it up for sale, leading Santiago Castillo to finance its acquisition by his daughter and son-in-law, Phillip and Yolanda Gallaty, in 1962. Over the next 25 years, the Gallatys expanded operations, securing distribution rights for major brands like MARS Inc., Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline), Ruger firearms, and Fiocchi ammunition.
